BragDeal's first week

You've probably heard or read that BragDeal has launched on Monday, Sep. 15, 2014. This article will cover how it started, the mindset to have, and what's next.

Startup Idea
Coming up with a unique startup idea is hard, getting people to like and use the developed idea is even harder. I studied a lot of what it takes to get the niche market. One thing I learned, as obvious as it might be, money - you need lots of it to get your startup built, maintained, advertised, and so on. That said, it can also be done while on a budget. It turns out, having a set budget benefits not only in terms of saving, but forces you to be part of the development. Not only do you learn new things, you follow along and know 100% what you are creating.

Web Design Vancouver

BragDeal's Start
When BragDeal started, I had no idea how it would be developed, who are BragDeal's target audience, and if it would work at all. Just like all startups, I took the chance and started anyway. For the development of the website, rather than hiring locally for ridiculously overcharged rates, getting the cheaper solutions overseas, or buying bootstrap solutions, I figured I would do it myself. Not only is it better, as you gain hands on experience, but it is just simply much more efficient. I learned new programming languages, new design aspects, and many other web development tools that can be used anywhere. Of course at times I thought there is no way I could do certain parts, but determination took the lead and I figured it out.

My Advise
My advise to you entrepreneurs out there: Research your idea before making it your final pick. Ask yourself, do you 100% believe in it? Can you do it with a minimal budget? Are you willing to sacrifice at least a year to develop your idea? Are you okay with not seeing results right away? If you answered yes to all the questions, you should be good to go. Keep an open mind, you might have the next best idea, but it does not matter how hard you work on getting it running as it is all about the execution. If time starts to press, priorities have to be made.

Something To Think About
Two sales men working at a shoes company were sent to Africa to market their product. The first guy called the boss the next day,
"Boss, no one is wearing shoes here. This is a horrible business opportunity.",

The second guy called that same day as well,
"Boss, amazing news. There is a very high demand here.".

Increase profit by selling shoes to those who can't afford it - something does not fit here (Get it? doesn't fit...). We can learn from this story that we must know who the target audience is and what outcome we are after.

Once Launched
It is important to maintain your startup, continue researching and validating the idea, and engage with your customers. Do not expect to suddenly explode with new customers or traffic to your website. It happens to a few, like Facebook for example, but nowadays it is getting harder and harder to create something that will "wow" the market.

Sincerely,
BragDeal Team
